As an American citizen visiting, working, studying, or residing in Korea, you are advised to enroll in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP), so that we know you are in Korea and how to contact you in case of an emergency.

The Embassy will email you travel warnings, travel alerts, and messages for U.S. citizens on safety and security issues in South Korea (this service is also known as the "warden system"), as well as our monthly newsletter. Just type your email address into the box below and click "Subscribe" (or "Unsubscribe" if you wish to remove your email address from our list). Our list of subscriber email addresses is managed by Databack Systems LLC, a company based in the United State. Databack does not sell, rent, or otherwise share your email address. The U.S. Government cannot guarantee the privacy of any email address provided to the contracted email list manager.
